With the support of Citadele Bank and within projects implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Rural Support Service (LAD), Meat Processing Company Nākotne has secured more than €4.9 million in financing. Three LAD projects have been implemented in cooperation with Citadele Bank.
Across the three LAD projects, the company has secured a total of €4.9 million in financing: €1.5 million in 2023/2024, €3 million in 2024/2025 and €0.4 million in 2025/2026.
The investments in the company’s development have focused on three key areas.
First, the company has strengthened its energy security and infrastructure independence. A boiler house has been built with the capacity to use different energy sources, including natural gas, liquefied gas and diesel fuel. Modern wastewater treatment facilities have been installed, a second 260-metre-deep borehole has been constructed, and a solar park with a capacity of 1 MW has been developed.
Second, the company’s production infrastructure has been expanded significantly, providing additional space for new equipment and enabling more efficient organisation of production processes.
Third, production equipment has been modernised. The projects have enabled the acquisition of several advanced machines, including a high-capacity finished-product packaging line, as well as sausage-making and meat-processing equipment.
“These investments are essential for the company’s continued growth. In today’s global market, it is impossible to compete with large international manufacturers without continuous modernisation. We have been developing our export business for a long time, and this financing helps us remain competitive in terms of both quality and price. Production capacity is also crucial in larger markets, which makes investment in modern, high-performance equipment particularly important,” says Egils Immermanis, Chairman of the Board of SIA Gaļas pārstrādes uzņēmums Nākotne.
“Access to financing is one of the key factors enabling companies to strengthen their market position and implement ambitious development plans. Our goal is to be a long-term partner to businesses, supporting their growth ambitions and ability to adapt to changing market conditions. We see that projects like these contribute not only to the development of SIA Gaļas pārstrādes uzņēmums Nākotne, but also to broader business activity and economic growth in the region,” says Vaidas Žagūnis, Member of the Management Board of Citadele Bank responsible for corporate banking.
The new production buildings, constructed within the existing factory premises, are designed to accommodate both finished-product handling and manufacturing processes. They provide space for modern equipment, enable production workflows to be reorganised and support improvements in operational efficiency and productivity.
The new highly automated equipment enables the company to improve the quality of existing products and develop new product lines.
“The project is also partly related to digitalisation. As part of the investment, we have introduced fully digital production process tracking, allowing us to manage daily operations more efficiently and make data-driven decisions. These investments also support the development of our team, with greater emphasis on employee training and the acquisition of new skills to adapt to an increasingly automated production environment,” adds Egils Immermanis.
Until now, investments have primarily focused on production development. However, as the company continues to attract new professionals, it is also investing in its office environment. A project for a new office building for SIA Gaļas pārstrādes uzņēmums Nākotne is currently in development. The aim is to improve employee well-being, provide comfortable working conditions and support greater productivity.
